Instant Theatre
FAQ
What can you expect from an Instant theatre show?
Instant Theatre has different forms, but it typically involves a classic story being told with a combination of narration and acted scenes. Before the show starts, the audience is encouraged to brainstorm together and elicit what they already know about the story. They also usually have a chance to talk to the actors after the show and ask them questions.
It is called Instant Theatre because there are very few costumes and props involved. The focus is on clear narration and good acting.
Is It Scripted?
The shows are scripted, but the narration or moderation between scenes is semi-improvized. This allows the performers to adapt each show to the audience and make sure that everybody is following the story.
Who Is It For?
These shows are generally more suited to people with a quite good level of English, but they do not have to be very advanced.
